Is this for real?

As a writer, there is NO way anyone is going to have access to the personal files on my computer. That's like taking my journal and putting it on a shelf at Barnes & Noble for just any person to read in passing.
I can't believe this.

Home invasion

George called me from work yesterday at like 11am to say he was going to be going to Chicago. And his flight was leaving at 5pm. Fun! Yesterday was not the day to be upsetting my fruit basket. I had class at 6pm and we had a butt-load of workers invading our house. Apparently our downstairs bathroom toilet was about to fall through the floor, so we had the floor replaced. I know it was necessary, but it was such a pain. The noise, and not being able to nurse Lucy in my favorite spot on the sofa due to the constant parade of men through my living room and the front door being wide open. I got really fed up and told the workers to stop smoking on my front porch because the smell was stinking up the house every time they opened the front door. They thought they were being polite since the door was closed (part of the time). I was about to flip out! Honestly! I'm not even going to go into how much that ticked me off!
Anyway...George came home early and packed. We took the Little Two to Waffle House for lunch. George's favorite restaurant is pretty much Waffle House. He says the overall grossness adds to the flavor. Yum. Mostly I was just glad to get away from the stressfulness of having lots of strangers in my house.
Lucky for me, my mom was able to drop everything and come over to watch all the kids for me so I could go to class at 6.
George called from the airport later to say that he got his toothpaste confiscated because it wasn't travel size. What stinks is that it's a brand new tube. Now I don't doubt that some idiot has probably tried to hijack a plane with a tube of toothpaste before - certainly McGyver could do it! - but the likelihood of that happening is pretty slim, I'd say.

Sleeping Beauty and her throne

Is there anything cuter than baby feet? Mom, I know you'll agree with me here.

Behold Princess Lulu....sleeping:

Yes, I know. Eighty seven pictures of a baby sleeping in some cultures could be considered pathetic, but she's MY LAST!!!!!! (sob) so please forgive me.

Here's Lulu's "throne":

See, Vanessa, if you read this post, I told you I'm psycho.

The Park

Back in February, Drake begged me to take him to the park, so we went, even though it was kind of cold out. This was Lucy's first trip to River Bend park.

While they were playing, Skylar and Bart discovered that someone had scrawled obscenities on the plastic. Thanks a lot, punk kids of the neighborhood, for introducing my children to some new swear words.

I remember how nervous I was when Skylar was Drake's age. I was such a hyper first-time parent. I wouldn't let her get near a playground slide without me holding her hand or climbing up with her. Now, I think I would probably let Drake drive the car if he was capable and it meant I could have five minutes to put my makeup on in the car mirror.

Chocolate-induced stupor

Here's Drake at the park.

Drake's romping at Kidsville was followed by a milkshake.

I think he's practicing his beard.

Spring has sprung

And so has Drake apparently... on his brother.

I love to hear about good people

This is pretty cool. What an awesome lady.

Every day is St. Patrick's Day

Or at least that's what Drake thinks.
Every morning when we sit down for breakfast, he informs me that today is St. Patrick's Day.
St. Patty's Day was pretty good to Drake. He wore his green sweater vest. We cut out green paper shamrocks and he helped hang them up around the playroom to surprise Bart. Lucy had to get shots, but Drake didn't. Mommy and Skylar had to go to the dentist but he didn't. He got to play with Nana. He even wore his green sweater vest to bed (over his pajamas) and I was hard-pressed to convince him to let me wash it the next day.

I think he looks a bit like a leprechaun.

The night before St. Patty's, Bart's class set traps to catch a leprechaun. Their assignment the week before was to create some sort of leprechaun trap and bring it to school the day before St. Patrick's Day. Bart wanted to make a movie theater to trap his leprechaun and use real popcorn to lure him/her in. Now, you might think that there would be no possible way Star Wars could ever factor into this St. Patrick's Day project in any way. Guess again.

Bart and Skylar spent probably an hour leafing through old magazines until they found some pictures of Star Wars characters. Bart decided that his Leprechaun Cinema would be showing a Star Wars movie. He and Skylar glued the magazine cuttings onto the "movie screen" in his leprechaun trap, and that's how Bart was able to incorporate his favorite thing in the world into a school project about leprechauns.

It turns out none of the traps were able to catch the leprechaun. However, Bart's came pretty close. The leprechaun ate the popcorn out of the inside of the trap and left a series of little green footprints on the roof of the Leprechaun Cinema.

The smiliest girl ever

Here are about a million pictures of Lulu smiling. I just couldn't stop snapping pictures. She is my last kid, after all.
Honestly, she DOES smile this much.

More Lucy pics

Lucy and Mommy...

There's just something so adorable about a baby in a jean dress.
